Victorian Bustles

Back in the mid to late 19th century a woman's skirt would tend to lose its shape because of the heaviness of the fabrics used in those days.  So a framework was created to support the back of the dress and became known as the bustle.


How in the world did women sit back in those days?

I wanted to do some sharing today.  Rebecca sent me this picture of what her talented young daughters did with some of the images she found on this blog.  They made this spooky Halloween house using the windows and shutters I posted!
